Marquee rental companies experienced significant financial challenges during the COVID-19 lockdowns. To generate some income, they sold old formwork boards, typically used as flooring in marquees, along with other stock items like old screws.
The design is an outdoor chair that can be built with basic carpentry skills using only these reclaimed materials. The initiative aimed to provide employees with the opportunity to produce these chairs for public institutions in exchange for financial support.
